Ashley Smith Thomas is the Founder and CEO of Freedom’s Fund USA, a nonprofit to protect freedom and national security. Previously, she served as the Deputy Director of North Texas for United States Senator Ted Cruz. Ashley is an Academy Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, Political Strategist for Fox News Radio, and host of “Freedom Talks”, a podcast show that educates Americans on key freedom and national security issues. Ashley has led a National Security series for the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) and was recognized as a TFRW 40 Under 40 recipient in 2023. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for Park Cities Republican Women.
Ashley started her career as the Assistant to the Vice President of Corporate Development for The Blaze in Dallas. She made a corporate move to manage a $14.7M project to rescue and resettle persecuted Christians and religious minorities who were targeted by ISIS in 2016. Ashley and her team rescued over 1,000 families and resettled them to host countries around the world.
Ashley furthered her calling by starting her own organization to work alongside the private and public sector to protect freedom. She has briefed panels within the intelligence community and uses her experiences to empower women to get involved in the political, governmental, and national security arena.
Ashley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University, with her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Interpersonal Communication & Government.
She earned her Juris Masters in International Law from Liberty University’s School of Law. She also received Professional Certificates in U.S. Intelligence Analysis and Project Management from Southern Methodist University.
Ashley and her husband reside in Dallas with their German Shepherd pup named Chief. They are proud parents to a precious baby who has changed their lives forever.
