MCKINNEY RESTAURANTS

Sauce - an Italian Home Kitchen in the heart of downtown McKinney

Your culinary experience begins as you walk through the covered dining patio to the smell of dough rising in our Woodstone-fired ovens.  Once inside, the dining room speaks immediately of the restaurant's unique charm and sense of communal gathering.  Banquette seating lines the century-old exposed brick wall, while red and white checkered table cloths, stained concrete floors, and classic Italian art set the stage for an approachable family dining experience.

The menu is created by celebrated Executive Chef Paul Petersen, who uses local farm-raised ingredients and neatly incorporates them into traditional Italian specialties.  House-made cheeses, imported Italian flour, fresh tomatoes, prosciutto DiParma, herbs, and pastas speak volumes of the flavors you will enjoy.  And, absolutely everything is served family style, enhancing the warmth and camaraderie of your experience.

As you transition through the dining room into the bar area, your group can visit on high-top cocktail tables or line the bar and watch the action.  The open kitchen makes for a fun place to split a pizza, share pasta, or enjoy a few signature Bellinis!

The wine list is also a home run - 50 labels of the best wines in the world for under $50 make it easy to try something new.  Each wine was chosen by our Sommerlier Brad Pyle with an appreciation for the artisan farmer where each bottle began.

The Pantry Restaurant (on the square)

The Pantry was established in November of 1982 on South Tennessee Street in historic downtown McKinney and moved to the present location in the old "Hope Hardware" building on East Louisiana Street in 1991.

The Pantry's fresh homemade food, daily specials, and homemade pies and cakes attract large crowds for lunch every day.

Text Box: Each year from Thanksgiving through Christmas, the Pantry bakes several thousand homemade pies, the bulk of them on "Pie Days" the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve Day.  "Pie Day" has become a social event in McKinney, and you never know who you'll run into that day at The Pantry.

Also, don't forget LAVENDER HOUSE AFTER DARK.  Soft lights and romantic music featuring "Chef" Joel Sanchez.

Rick's Chophouse at The Grand Hotel & Ballroom

"the intrigue of history, the aroma of aged steaks and the vision of artfully presented cuisine"

Two exciting elements that govern the design include an original limestone wall circa 1885 and a restored, pressed tin ceiling.  The dominant historical significance is remembered with chop-block tabletops and deep leather booths where guests can dine nightly under the soft glow of gas lanterns, rich mahogany walls, and iron chandeliers.

Adding a nostalgic edge to the old world tradition of a boutique hotel and steakhouse, the Grand Bar welcomes visitors with its charm.  Exposed antique brick walls and leather finishes express permanence to help guests feel at home.  For the day's end, a baby grand piano hosts live music Thursday through Saturday.

Lone Star Wine Cellars

Lone Star Wine Cellars McKinney    Lone Star Wine Cellars Out Front

McKinney, Texas is home to this quaint wine tasting room.  Agreeing that the wine industry was underexposed in Collin County, two wine enthusiasts, john Wales and Ron Ross, joined forces in 2003 to create a small wine tasting room and gift shop offering quality local wines to this community.  As exciting as it was at the time, the history of this venture began long before that.

Ron, a winemaking hobbyist since the 1960's, had built a small boutique winery on his property at the Triple "R" Ranch in 2000, and had enjoyed making wine for family and friends.  John, who had planted the first commercial vineyard in Collin County in 1998, found himself in 2002 with a surprisingly full--bodied Cabernet Sauvignon grape and no winery to process it.  He was still in the process of building his winery.  So together with the facilities at the Triple "R" Ranch and the grapes from Wales Manor, John and Ron produced the first Collin County Cabernet Sauvignon.  Thus, Lone Star Wine Cellars was born.

Visitors can enjoy a nice compliment of wines offered from both Wales Manor Winery & Vineyard and the Triple "R" Ranch & Winery.  As well as offering wine tastings, Lone Star Wine Cellars hosts regular music performances to invite lingering and tasting.  Visit this unique shop in historic downtown McKinney and discover the budding wine industry of Collin County at Lone Star Wine Cellars, now the fifth highest-producing winery in the state.
